Description: On June 2, 2020, Plaintiff participated in a Black Lives Matter demonstration near Central Park in New York County. After the demonstration, Plaintiff and his friends walked to the subway with a group of NYPD officers. Cellphone video shows the the two groups walking together and calmly chatting. Then another group of NYPD officers approached from behind and arrested Plaintiff and his friends. One of the officers grabbed Plaintiff from behind, forced him facedown on the ground, kneed or kicked him in the ribs, and tightly handcuffed him. The plaintiff refused and told the officer that he was only being stopped because of his race. The officer then issued the plaintiff a ticket for public consumption of alcohol even though it was a nonalcoholic beer.
