Description: On July 22, 2014, Plaintiff Millicent Johnson was at the Fort Bragg Army Base in Fayetteville, North Carolina, completing a criminal background check for a job as a food service worker at the base. She was arrested at the army base when the background check showed there was an outstanding bench warrant for her arrest in New York State. However, plaintiff was not actually the wanted individual. Despite this, plaintiff was taken into custody by Military Police officials and taken to a holding cell at Fort Bragg, despite plaintiff's protests that she was the wrong person.
