Description: On July 8, 2012, Plaintiff was suddenly kicked in the back by NYPD Officer Yaser Shohatee, causing her to fall to the ground and momentarily lose consciousness. Officer Shohatee then sat on top of Plaintiff and repeatedly punched Plaintiff in her lower back and right shoulder. Officer Shohatee continued the attack by grabbing her arms and pulling them so hard that Plaintiff felt her right arm "snap". Plaintiff was unlawfully arrested and taken to the 68th Precinct, where Officer Shohatee falsely accused the Plaintiff of assaulting him. Officer Shohatee threatened to destroy Plaintiff's chances of going to medical school if she insisted on being taken to the hospital for her injuries. Plaintiff then accepted a...
