Description: On or about June 10, 2023, Plaintiff was walking her dog across the intersection when NYPD Officer Elisa M. Ranieri, Shield No. 10822, struck her dog with a Toyota sedan that she was operating. Officer Ranieri failed to yield to Conde’s right of way, acted negligently and recklessly, and violated New York traffic laws by failing to properly observe her surroundings and control her vehicle. After striking the dog, Officer Ranieri allegedly refused to provide her personal information and did not stop to assess the plaintiff's or the dog’s condition.
As a result of the collision, the plaintiff's dog sustained severe injuries that required emergency treatment, including the amputation of its ear.
