Description: On April 16, 2017, around 7:30 p.m., in the vicinity of Van Cortlandt Park East and East 242nd Street in the Bronx, NYPD officers, including Julio G. Veras and another unidentified officer, confronted Sean McNair. The officers stopped McNair without any warrant or apparent justification, using physical force to detain him. During the incident, McNair was assaulted, arrested, and deprived of necessary medication, food, and sanitary facilities while in custody. The force used was excessive, resulting in serious physical injuries and long-term psychological harm.
