Description: On November 2, 2019, Oren Levy, the owner of RDK NY Inc., a company dealing in hemp products, ordered 106 pounds of hemp from Fox Holler Farms in Vermont. The shipment was sent via Federal Express to be delivered to his brother, Ronen Levy, due to Oren being hospitalized at the time. However, the shipment was initially confiscated by Vermont police based on the suspicion that it contained marijuana. After Oren clarified the legal nature of the shipment, the Vermont police cleared the package for delivery. Description: On November 2, 2019, the NYPD improperly confiscated 106 pounds of hemp products on the presumption that the shipment contained marijuana instead. Plaintiffs had lawfully ordered the hemp products as part of his business, but the actions of Officers Rodney Greenidge, Joshua Ganshaw, and a John Doe officer caused Plaintiffs to be deprived of their business and livelihood.
