Description: On October 10, 2020, near 17 Monitor Street in Kings County, NY, the plaintiffs were unlawfully arrested, detained, assaulted, and battered in an excessive manner by defendant police officers who falsely identified them as "Black Lives Matter" protestors. The plaintiffs had gathered throughout the day to support their friend Mya, who had been assaulted by her roommate, Eddo. Plaintiff John Reso first arrived and met Mya's parents, and when Eddo threatened them, they called the police. The police refused to act because Mya had no visible bruises.
