Complaint
Description: On October 27, 2013, Plaintiff Karima Williams was in the process of giving a former boyfriend his belongings out of her apartment when the former boyfriend became angry and started breaking property inside the apartment. As a result, the police were called, who arrived and then reached into Plaintiff's apartment to pull her out into the hallway to arrest her given her former boyfriend's injuries that he inflicted on himself by breaking mirrors with his hands. From that point, Defendant officer Matthew Monaghan of the NYPD indicated that Plaintiff had scratched her boyfriend's face in an abuse of process. Plaintiff claims false arrest, abuse of process, and malicious prosecution.
