Complaint
Description: On June 12, 2014, plaintiff, a 16-year-old young woman was seated on the basketball court of a park with her friends. Police officers roughly handled one of the friends which caused plaintiff to become upset. She returned home and was followed by officers Portie and Carrie. Defendant officers grabbed her mother, the second plaintiff, by the shirt and threw her to the ground. Plaintiff tried to intervene and was tackled and beaten. She was transported to the precinct and denied medical attention. Her arrest was unlawful and after being detained for 24 hours, the charges were adjourned in contemplation of dismissal.
