Description: On February 2, 2021, Plaintiff LUIS SANTANA was a passenger in vehicle when that was stopped by an unmarked police vehicle containing four NYPD officers. After confirming the license was valid one of the NYPD officers asked
SANTANA and the other occupants to exit the vehicle because they needed to search it, alleging there was a smell of "weed", despite no one smoking inside the vehicle. All of the occupants complied with the directive and exited the vehicle. SANTANA and the other occupants were handcuffed while they were searched on the street at the rear of the vehicle. Simultaneously other NYPD officers arrived on the scene and started to search the BMW that SANTANA and the other occupants just exited.

Description: On November 20, 2019 near 351 East 138th street in Bronx County, PO Calle, Det. Tepperman, Sgt. Santos and certain officers unlawfully searched and arrested the plaintiff and without cause charged him with criminal possession of a controlled substance and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. The plaintiff was then strip-searched in the 40th precinct. On January 9, 2020, the Bronx County Criminal Court dismissed the case. The defendants tore out their names from the NYPD Property invoice issued for the plaintiff's property which was seized.

Description: On July 12, 2015 at approximately 2:30 p.m. POs Andres Calle, Khan Pollock, James Roche, Ostende Alvarado, John Doe, and John Roe approached Plaintiffs Calix, Valencia, and Caballero and summarily stopped, frisked, searched, grabbed, assaulted, battered, and detained them in an aggressive and excessive manner without legal justification. While in custody Plaintiffs were strip-searched. They remained incarcerated for over 24 hours and were maliciously prosecuted, requiring numerous court appearances over an extended period of time until all charges against them were terminated favorably on September 25, 2017. All three Plaintiffs suffered physical and emotional pain and injuries as a result of the incident.
