Case # 716216/2017, Supreme Court - Queens, November 28, 2017, ended July 20, 2022
$90,000 Settlement
Complaint
Description: On August 31, 2016, P.O.s Evan Gale, Christopher Stango, and John Does 1-2 stopped a livery cab in which Plaintiff Tanzania Page was a passenger. They originally stopped her livery cab because, unknown to Ms. Page, the driver – hired from Defendant cab company Magnificent 7 – was not licensed to drive. Upon learning this, the officers searched Ms. Page and found no contraband. They searched the vehicle and, in the center console, found the driver's marrijuana and pills. Subsequently, they arrested Ms. Page. She was arraigned and charged, all without probable cause. On September 30, 2016, the case was dismissed and sealed.
