Description: Plaintiff was pulled over and arrested by defendant officers as a suspect in a prior homicide case. He was transported to the 67th Precinct. Plaintiff was charged with eight counts of attempted murder and an assortment of other charges, including weapons and reckless endangerment charges as well as multiple counts of various assault charges. He was indicted by the Brooklyn DA and spent 16 months in Rikers. The case was dismissed.

Description: On September 6, 2010, an unidentified gunman shot at NYPD Officers Seminara, Henderson, and Ortlieb. Trevor Perez was present at the shooting and was unlawfully handcuffed and imprisoned shortly thereafter despite not being involved in the shooting. NYPD Detective Freed and an unidentified NYPD Officer coerced a confession from Perez by forcing him to sign a dictated statement on a photograph of Plaintiff identifying Plaintiff as the gunman. Detective Freed then colluded with Officer Seminara to have Seminara identify Plaintiff as the gunman given the illegality involved in procuring Perez's confession.
