Description: On November 1, 2022, Plaintiff was falsely arrested and unlawfully imprisoned by Defendants NYPD Officers Jason Lee and Long Chen, under the supervision of sergeant Jimenez. Plaintiff, who was wearing an orthopedic boot due to a fractured ankle, had been assaulted by another man. After the assault, Plaintiff called the police for assistance, but officers spoke only to the assailant and arrested Plaintiff without cause. Despite his injury, he was dragged through the station and denied medical care as well as pain medication while in a holding cell for 5 hours. Plaintiff was later arraigned on false charges based on fabricated evidence from Defendant Officer Lee. All charges against Plaintiff were dismissed.

Description: On August 28, 2020, Plaintiff, with a friend, was at the 59th Street/Columbus Circle Train Station in Manhattan waiting for the train when an off-duty police officer began to stare at them. When Plaintiff and his friend entered the train two Defendant Officers followed. One Officer held the train door as the other officer asked the Plaintiff to step out of the train. When Plaintiff asked why and stated he did not commit a crime, he received no answer, and was placed in an illegal police chokehold. Defendant Officer eventually loosened his grip of the Plaintiff’s neck/throat area as other Defendants loosened their grip on his arms and he was then handcuffed.
