Description: On September 26, 2018, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Cynthia Thomas was lawfully present in the vicinity of 482 Monroe Street, Brooklyn, when she was stopped, questioned, frisked, and arrested without probable cause by NYPD Officers Kenneth Daniels, Shirley Rivas, and other unnamed officers. While attempting to provide her identification, officers forcefully grabbed Thomas, injuring her lower back. She was handcuffed and transported to the 81st Precinct, where her requests for medical assistance were ignored. After being detained for 24 hours, she was arraigned and charged with crimes she did not commit, which were eventually dismissed after multiple court appearances.
