Description: On August 20, 2015, defendant NYPD officer Michael Tansey (Shield No. 3902), along with unnamed defendant NYPD officers, approached plaintiff and wrongfully placed him under arrest for lawfully distributing CDs containing music created by plaintiff.. Plaintiff was processed and falsely charged with various crimes based on false information provided by defendants, including Tansey, to the DA's office. Plaintiff sustained physical and mental injuries as a result of this incident All charges were dropped on July 27, 2016.

Description: On August 11, 2012, Plaintiff was lawfully distributing CDs of his own original music at approximately 6:50 p.m. on 7th Avenue when several Officers, including Defendant Officer Tansey, approached Plaintiff. Defendant Tansey and the other officers unlawfully searched Plaintiff without any probable cause. Defendant Officers then unlawfully placed Plaintiff under arrest and falsely informed the District Attorney's office that Plaintiff committed the following crimes: Aggressive Begging in a Public Place, and Disorderly Conduct.
