Description: On December 24, 2019, while lawfully walking with an acquaintance at 55th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue in Brooklyn, NY, the plaintiff was wrongfully approached, stopped, searched, assaulted, battered, arrested, and detained by defendants, including Anthony Ruggiero and John Does 1-8, without legal justification. The defendants accused the plaintiff and his acquaintance of matching the description of a cell phone thief, despite the theft involving only one individual and no evidence implicating the plaintiff. Description: On June 28, 2020. dozens of NYPD officers appeared at a Queer Liberation for Black Lives March, which was peaceful and enjoyable prior to this point. The officers rushed the crowd or protestors, cursed at them, used pepper spray and tear gas, and violently shoved individuals to the ground. Plaintiff heard cries for assistance and request by people for her to come help. Plaintiff observed a young man being arrested, being dragged aggressively across the ground.
