Description: On December 19, 2022, at about 7:00 am, plaintiff Dornell Perez was arrested by NYPD officers Michael Ambrosio, Darrick Reed, and Sergeant Darin Lazar inside of a Chick-Fil-A restaurant located in the vicinity of West 44th Street and 8th Avenue. Perez was conversing inside the restaurant when Ambrosio, Reed, and Lazar entered the restaurant and placed handcuffs on Perez. The officers lacked an arrest warrant, probable cause, reasonable cause or any legal justification, approached Perez for no reason, and based on fraud, perjury and misrepresentations, and summarily stopped, searched, grabbed, assaulted, battered, and detained him in an aggressive and excessive manner. Description: On February 9, 2022, several NYPD officers, including Nicholas Frazier, Michael Ambrosio, and Sergeant Darin Lazar, approached Plaintiff. These officers stopped, searched, assaulted, battered, handcuffed, and then detained Plaintiff without justification. Because of the police battery, Plaintiff suffered permanent injury to his head, neck, back, body, and limbs and was rendered disabled. Once Plaintiff was in custody, the officers strip searched Plaintiff with no justification. Plaintiff was incarcerated for over 24 hours and had to make several court appearances before all charges against him were terminated favorably.
