Description: Plaintiff was riding his dirt bike when he picked up a friend near West 120th Street. His friend jumped off the bike and was being chased by police officers. The plaintiff continued to ride his bike when he was tackled by an officer in plain clothes, who said "give me your fucking arm". The man did not identify himself as a police officer but allegedly was working undercover and was then joined by other officers. The officer then grabbed the plaintiff's arms and began to beat him on the ground. Officers continued to punch him in the face and one officer threatened to break his arm. Description: On May 25, 2016, Plaintiff Kamer Reid was lawfully present outside a Brooklyn shelter when he was approached by Defendant NYPD Officer Bradley Kucyk and other unidentified members of the NYPD. The defendants assaulted Reid, using excessive force against him. They then proceeded to arrest Reid, handcuffing him and recklessly causing serious permanent injuries. As a result of this false arrest and imprisonment, Plaintiff Reid suffered severe emotional and psychological trauma in addition to his physical injuries. Despite there being no just cause for his arrest, Reid was brought to the precinct and charged. Following this malicious prosecution, all charges were ultimately dismissed.
