Description: On July 8, 2013, plaintiff Peter Kaplan served his then wife, Andrea Karambelas, with divorce papers. In retaliation, Karambelas spent hours with NYPD officer defendant Marcos Martinez and other John / Jane Does officers developing a story to charge Kaplan with crimes allegedly committed days and weeks earlier. Karambelas had a previous history of making false allegations against her husband. That evening, SWAT Team officers pushed into Kaplan's apartment without his consent and ransacked it looking for weapons, removing a gold Rolex watch that was never returned to the plaintiff.
