Description: On October 20, 2014, the plaintiff, Mr. Dominic Broadus, used his MetroCard to swipe a friend into the subway. On his way out of the station, Mr. Broadus was accosted by two of the defendant NYPD officers, who demanded that he hand them his MetroCard, which he did. Mr. Broadus asked if he had done anything wrong, and when he was ignored, he began recording on his phone. One of the defendants slapped the phone out of his hand, which knocked it to the floor and broke it. That defendant then slammed Mr. Broadus against the wall and used his baton to repeatedly beat Mr. Broadus's leg.
