Description: On March 21, 2018, Jason, a seventeen-year-old high school student, was arrested for Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree at his home by Officer Pettit, Smith, although he was not advised of what he was accused of stealing. After being held in custody for more than twenty-four hours, the plaintiff still had no idea what crime he was accused of committing. The plaintiff was charged for using a fraudulent Venmo account to pay for computer parts, despite never maintaining a Venmo account. The alleged transaction took place in Manhattan where the plaintiff was able to provide video evidence that he was home in Queens during this time.
