Description: On or about January 1, 2016 Det. Jorge Puga improperly arrested Plaintiff for robbery but then let him go after it was determined Plaintiff was not the suspect they were looking for. Plaintiff was then improperly rearrested by Det. Puga and unnamed officers for the same alleged offense on January 16, 2016. The false arrest was motivated in part by arrest quotas. POs intentionally forwarded false information to initiate a malicious prosecution against Plaintiff. Plaintiff was compelled to make numerous court appearances to defend himself over a period of approximately 233 days. The charges were ultimately dismissed on September 15, 2016.
