Two days later, on October 14, 2016, at approximately 6:00 a.m., the defendants forcefully entered the apartment, breaking the front door. The defendants were searching for an individual named "L. Dupree," whom they believed had sold drugs from the apartment on three separate occasions before the plaintiff moved in. However, "L. Dupree" no longer lived in the apartment, and the plaintiff had no knowledge of this person.

Description: On December 27, 2016, Defendant NYPD Detective Tearle Connell, Sergeant Rolett Cordero, and Detective Michael Kobus forcibly entered Plaintiff Phyllis Kendall's residence and conducted an illegal search and, without a warrant, forcibly handcuffed, detained, arrested, and imprisoned Plaintiff. Plaintiff was told that she would be released from custody if she provided the location of her son, who was the real target for capture. When Plaintiff failed to assist Defendants, she was kept in custody and issued a Desk Appearance Ticket falsely accusing Plaintiff of possessing controlled substances. On March 19, 2018, all charges against Plaintiff were dismissed.

Description: Defendant Undercover Officers knocked on Plaintiff's door and claimed someone told them to come there. Plaintiff refused to let them in and they exchanged words. Defendant Officers came back later and knocked in the door with guns drawn, assaulting Plaintiff and his guests, and searching the apartment and destroying property. Officers then handcuffed Plaintiff and his guests, searched their pockets, found a crack pipe in one of the guest's pockets, and took them all to the precinct. Plaintiff was charged with drug related crimes and was harassed by police officers on future occasions.

Description: On September 25, 2013, defendant officers were on patrol in plain clothes when plaintiff's girlfriend told him that his friend was being attacked by four officers. Plaintiff exited his apartment to observe. Video footage shows defendants violently accosting and ultimately arresting the friend. Once the friend was detained, the officers approached plaintiff who was doing nothing apart from observing and placed him under arrest. Officer Clarke falsely claimed that plaintiff had approached him and cursed at him. Plaintiff eventually consented to an ACD and all charges have since been dismissed.
