Suddenly and without any provocation or legal justification, defendant police officers forcibly grabbed plaintiff and threw him down to the ground and began punching plaintiff in the face, head, and all over his body with a baton, causing plaintiff to suffer serious physical injur...

Description: On or about October 30, 2016, Oliver Hernandez exited a taxicab and told the cab driver that he was going to grab his wallet from his girlfriend and return to pay for the ride. His girlfriend, Sandra Carino, arrived in a separate taxicab and Oliver walked over to her to get his wallet. Mr. Hernandez's cab driver yelled that Mr. Hernandez was running away without paying for the cab ride and so Officers Mariano Bulfamante, John Doe #1 and John Doe #2 ran over. Mr. Hernandez attempted to show them that he had sufficient cash in his wallet to pay, but Officer John Doe #1 went behind Mr. Hernandez and slammed him down into the sidewalk causing him to lose consciousness.
