Description: On or about January 15, 2015, the plaintiff was falsely arrested for the attempted theft of a Mercedes. The plaintiff had called a tow truck to relocate the car to a safe location after its driver had been arrested. He explained to the officers that the car’s owner had granted him permission to move the vehicle and that it was unreasonable and unsafe to leave the car unattended on a public street.
The plaintiff offered to provide the contact information for the car’s owner, but the officers showed no interest in speaking with the owner or verifying the plaintiff’s account.
