Description: On October 30, 2015, at approximately 8:00 pm, Percy Lumpkin was negligently arrested by the New York City Police Department (NYPD) even though he had not acted unlawfully. The arrest was without reasonable or probable cause, constituting false arrest. After the arrest, police officers handcuffed Lumpkin and restrained him, unlawfully detaining him in police custody without any cause or justification. This unlawful detention caused Lumpkin pain, humiliation, personal injury, and suffering. Additionally, Lumpkin was unlawfully imprisoned, which further exacerbated his damages.
