Description: On September 4, 2023, Plaintiff was standing lawfully on a public sidewalk in Kings County when he was assaulted by Defendant NYPD Officer William Schumacher, assigned to the NYPD Community Response Team (CRT). Without cause, Defendant Officer Schumacher tackled Plaintiff into a hot metal grill using full weight of Defendant's body and landing on top of the Plaintiff, causing severe burns to his body, and continued to batter him on the concrete sidewalk by landing his body weight on Plaintiff and placing his knee on Plaintiff's chest and used both of Defendant's hands to shove Plaintiff's face and head into the concrete sidewalk.. Description: On or about April 14, 2020 at approximately 8:30 am Defendants NYPD Officers illegally stopped, searched, and arrested Defendant without probable cause or reasonable suspicion. While Defendant was walking along Washington Street in Brooklyn, NYPD Officers in a police car asked him "What did you pass to the lady?" and Plaintiff who had not spoken or passed anything the woman across the street responded that he did not know what the officer was talking about. The Officer then stopped him and demanded identification. While Plaintiff was removing his identification, his prescription bottle of Clonazepam fell out of plaintiff's bag and rolled behind a nearby gate.
