Description: On December 20, 2016, defendant NYPD officer Delwyn Davis (Shield No. 5739), along with an unnamed defendant NYPD officer unlawfully arrested and detained plaintiffs, and worked to maliciously charge them based on a criminal complaint written with omissions of exculpatory information. Defendant NYPD officers acted with racial motivation in violation of plaintiff constitutional right to equal protection under the New York state constitution. All charges against plaintiff Aponsah were dismissed on September 19, 2017, and all charges against plaintiff Llewellyn were dismissed on July 6, 2017. Plaintiffs suffered physical and emotional injuries as a result of this incident.
