Description: On July 5, 2019, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Lionel Bridgett was lawfully present near East 170th Street and Franklin Avenue in the Bronx when he was approached by NYPD officers, including Officer Marco Padilla, Officer Kenneth Marello, and other unidentified officers. The officers allegedly stopped, searched, and arrested Bridgett without probable cause or legal justification. During the arrest, they allegedly used excessive force, including applying a chemical agent and a stun gun/taser to Bridgett. Bridgett was taken to a hospital and detained for several hours before being released. He claims to have suffered physical and emotional injuries as a result of the arrest and the excessive force used.

Description: Plaintiffs David and Joey Fernandez were in an argument when Joey kicked his bedroom door down, and accidentally hit his brother's nose. Plaintiffs called an ambulance, and when it arrived, police officers also arrived at the scene. The plaintiffs explained the situation to the police officers and said that neither wished to press charges. Police officers arrested both plaintiffs, and when Joey Fernandez asked why, he was pushed to the ground and punched and then taken into a police car.
