Description: On January 15, 2021, in the vicinity of Fox Street and East 163rd Street in the Bronx, Shantell Bell was approached by the Defendant officers. Without an arrest warrant, probable cause, or any legal justification, the Plaintiff was stopped, searched, grabbed, assaulted, battered, and detained in an excessive manner. The plaintiff was then arraigned after her arrest and falsely and maliciously prosecuted with committing a crime. Thereafter, Shantell Bell remained incarcerated for over twenty-four hours and was required to make numerous court appearances before all charges against her were terminated favorably on May 31, 2023.
