Description: On October 27, 2020, Plaintiffs Olivia Wanebo and John Acosta attended a protest against police brutality in Kings County. Plaintiff Acosta was filming the officers stationed at the protest and witnessed an unnamed officer use their bicycle as a weapon against another protestor. Upon using his phone to record the incident, Defendant Captain Ramos shoved Mr. Acosta and stated that he was placing Mr. Acosta under arrest. Description: On June 4, 2020, plaintiff Ugurlu participated in a protest when defendant Doe 81 grabbed his hands and defendant Doe 82 placed him in excessively tight plastic zip-tie handcuffs. At Queens County Central Booking, plaintiff Ugurlu was 16 hours in custody, before he was released and given a Desk Appearance Ticket, which was later dismissed.
