Description: On December 9, 2017, Plaintiff was approached by officers without cause. Plaintiff was not in possession of any contraband or engaged in any criminal activity. Plaintiff was then illegally searched, handcuffed, and transported to the precinct. Plaintiff was detained for one day and charged. All charges against Plaintiff were subsequently dismissed.

Description: On August 3, 2017 at approximately 6:30 PM, at 2111 Albermarle Road, in the borough of Brooklyn, plaintiff was arrested and charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon, assault, menacing, and other related charges. However, plaintiff did not attempt to commit murder, possess a weapon, or assault anyone. After a lengthy trial, both 911 calls and DNA evidence supported plaintiff's version of events. Plaintiff was acquitted of all charges on April 22, 2019. He had been unlawfully incarcerated for 1 year and 8 months. Plaintiff now files suit against the City, police officer Leon Batson, unidentified police officer (John Doe 1) and unidentified police officers (John and Jane Doe 2-12).
