Description: On April 28, 2016, Plaintiff Anthony Barksdale, a black man, was a passenger in a moving vehicle when the vehicle was pulled over by Defendant NYPD Officer James Rodriguez and Unidentified Officers. The Defendants proceeded to arrest Barksdale, despite having no just or reasonable cause. Plaintiff was handcuffed and brought to prison, where he was searched and placed in a cell. Plaintiff remained in jail "for a long time" before being released. A criminal proceeding was brought against Plaintiff Barksdale, forcing Plaintiff to appear in court repeatedly. The charges were all dismissed on July 5, 2017.
