Description: On October 17, 2019, Plaintiff was contacted by officers that a complaint was filed against her and she needed to go in to the precinct for questioning. In fact, no criminal activity was reasonably suspected. Plaintiff was questioned and threatened with lengthy imprisonment if she did not falsely confess. Plaintiff was arrested and detained. Plaintiff was required to return to court multiple times to fight the false allegations. All charges against Plaintiff were subsequently dismissed.

Description: On June 12, 2013, NYPD Officer Brodie—the father of Plaintiff’s child—made a complaint to NYPD Sgt. Ortiz that Plaintiff had threatened him over email. Plaintiff had been emailing with Officer Brodie because he violated the terms of a family court order by not making child support payments. Officer Brodie complained to Plaintiff about having to pay child support. While making his complaint to Sgt. Ortiz, Officer Brodie identified himself as an NYPD officer.
