Description: On January 26, 2019, the Plaintiff was at a restaurant with friends/family when around 3:00 a.m, an undercover PO approached the Plaintiff, asking for cocaine. Te Plaintiff had a very small amount, and gave some to the undercover PO. The officer tried to give the Plaintiff money, to which the Plaintiff refused to accept. 10 minutes later, a group of POs entered the restaurant and arrested the Plaintiff. The undercover PO falsely claimed the Plaintiff sold cocaine to him in exchange for $40. Description: On or about May 23, 2014, Defendant Police Officer Luis Campana stopped the car that one Plaintiff was driving and that the other Plaintiff was riding in as a passenger. Defendant Police Officer Luis Campana falsely arrested both Plaintiffs, falsely claiming that there was an illegally possessed weapon in plain sight to justify the stop. Plaintiffs were shackled and taken to a local precinct and Central Booking, which required them to secure legal representation and spend an inordinate amount of time in a jail lock-up before release. Both Plaintiffs were physically and emotionally damaged as a result.
