Description: On April 4, 2024, at approximately 9 pm, Plaintiff was leaving his friend's apartment when he was stopped, searched, and arrested by NYPD officers. He was later taken to a police station in the Bronx and entered on the records as under arrest. He was fingerprinted and photographed at the precinct where he was held until 4am, when he was transferred to Bronx Central Booking. Around 9pm on April 5, 2024, the plaintiff was released without seeing a judge.
The criminal action against the plaintiff was later terminated by dismissal.

Description: On or about August 31, 2017, Omar Santiago was lawfully present at the 52nd Police Precinct in the Bronx, New York, when he was handcuffed and unlawfully arrested by New York City Police Officer Richard Ortiz and other unidentified officers. Santiago was charged with violating Penal Code 240.30(2) and was detained for approximately 14 hours before being released. The criminal case against him was subsequently dropped by the district attorney.
