Complaint
Description: On May 10, 2022, Plaintiff was lawfully protesting at Washington Square Park when he was approached and detained by Defendant Police Officers. Defendants approached Plaintiff without probable cause or reasonable suspicion. Defendant Officers began to arrest Plaintiff, subjecting him to an unlawful pat-down search, pinning his hands behind his back and restraining him with metal handcuffs. Defendants then placed Plaintiff in the back of a police vehicle and transported him to the 6th Precinct. While Plaintiff was in custody, Defendant Officers provide the New York County District Attorney’s Office with the false, misleading, and/or incomplete information that Plaintiff committed an administrative code violation,...
