Description: On March 4, 2022, near 204th Street and Broadway in New York, the plaintiffs were unlawfully arrested, detained, assaulted, battered, and subjected to excessive force by defendant police officers while inside a lawfully parked vehicle. The officers approached and asked them to step out without legal justification. Despite complying, the plaintiffs were shoved, arrested, shackled with metal handcuffs, and searched along with their vehicle without being informed of the reason, yielding no contraband. They were made to sit on the freezing sidewalk for half an hour before being locked in an NYPD transport van for about 3.5 hours.
