Description: On February 1, 2014, plaintiffs were near Bryant Park, Manhattan., NY. Roberts had chocolates to sell on the street, to raise funds for a school trip for her son. Solomon needed to use a restroom. Roberts directed him to a nearby store. She told him she would remain where she was so he could find her when he returned. Solomon has a processing disorder, difficulty memorizing more than simple directions, and becomes extremely agitated if he encounters unexpected changes in direction or deviations from routine. After Solomon left, a woman in plain clothes approached her and inquired about the chocolates. Roberts responded they cost one dollar.
