Complaint
Description: On April 3, 2012, NYPD Officers Fredy Cruz, Brendan Regan, and Richard Baboolal arrested Plaintiff for selling cocaine without any basis to do so. After Plaintiff's arrest the officers failed to communicate to the District Attorney's Office that Plaintiff possessed a sum of currency less than the street value of the cocaine seized from an individual seen engaging with Plaintiff. Officer Regan knew that Officer Cruz was not in a position to observe the alleged drug sale but nonetheless signed the criminal complaint relying on Cruz's misrepresentations. Plaintiff was held in jail for approximately 1 week before being released. All charges against Plaintiff were dismissed.
