Description: On May 19, 2012 while shopping for a snack in a corner store on East 187th Street and Third Avenue, the plaintiff, Mr. Pariante was approached from behind by two officers wearing regular clothes, who then proceeded to frisk him and search his pockets. During the search, the two officers found two white unmarked pills in Mr. Pariante's pocket, to which he identified to be Tramadol prescribed by his doctor. The officers then began their own research of the drug on their phones and after completing their research, they asserted that the two pills were a controlled substance. The plaintiff was then cuffed and transported to a local precinct and unlawfully detained for 26 hours and later charged with criminal posses...
