Description: On January 1, 2018, at approximately 12:10 AM, Plaintiff was unlawfully stopped, searched, and arrested by NYPD officers, including Officer Garth Merandy, near 625 East 40th Street, Kings County, New York. Despite not committing any crime, Plaintiff was falsely accused of possessing a firearm and a weapon. The officers conducted an illegal search of Plaintiff person and vehicle without probable cause. They later falsely alleged that they found a weapon in Plaintiff vehicle, resulting in Plaintiff’s arrest. Plaintiff was detained for three days and falsely charged with criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon. The charges were dismissed on May 17, 2018.
