Complaint
Description: On May 30, 2020 plaintiff Soares was marching in a protest against police violence. Walking with a group of ten to fifteen people, a similar number of officers stopped in front of the group and set up a barricade. Once stopped, the group of protestors including Soares started chanting "hands up, don't shoot." After five minutes, Senior P.O. John Doe #2 ordered the other uniformed officers to arrest the group, which led to P.O. Jones grabbing Soares, twisting her arm, and pushing her up agaisnt the wall while calling her a "bitch" and a "cunt." Soares was placed in significantly tight handcuffs to cause her pain in her wrist for hours. Soares was taken to a van where she sat with P.O. Jones for half an hour, the...
