Description: On September 18, 2015, Plaintiff Emanuel Soto was at work when, unbeknownst to him, someone borrowed his car. Defendant Officer Anthony Rodriguez pulled over the driver of the vehicle, reached inside to grab the driver's license and registration, when the driver sped off, striking the Defendant's arm. The Defendant, believing Plaintiff to have been driving, put up "wanted" posters alleging vehicular assault of a police officer. On October 3, 2015, Plaintiff became aware of the wanted poster and contacted a criminal defense lawyer, who arranged for Plaintiff to meet with the police on October 6, 2015. Description: In January 2009, Urretia was returning home, when police officers informed him that his apartment had been broken into. The POs then arrested him for criminal possession of a controlled substance despite not finding any marijuana on him. Then the PO's took Urretia to the police precinct where they conducted an invasive strip search. After the search, the PO's went back to Urretias home and destroyed several valuable items. The eventual charges against him were dismissed on September 30, 2010.
