Description: On May 26, 2018, at 169th Street and Park Avenue in the Bronx, Plaintiffs Legette and Serrano were outside with friends when police officers approached and arrested them for possession of a gun, along with several others. Plaintiffs never saw a gun recovered and were not informed why they were being arrested. Ms. Serrano was released from Central Bookings without being prosecuted, while Ms. Legette was charged only with possession of a knife after police claimed she was near a black plastic bag containing a knife, which she never saw.
