Description: On March 14, 2019, the two plaintiffs were lawfully in one of the plaintiff’s apartments when Police Officer Shawndel Latham and other officers entered the apartment without lawful justification. The officers unlawfully searched the plaintiffs with no reasonable suspicion or lawful basis to do so and recovered no contraband from the plaintiffs, yet placed the plaintiffs in handcuffs and took them to the police precinct under arrest. At the precinct, the officers falsely informed the DA’s Office that the plaintiffs said they had committed certain crimes/offenses when in fact the plaintiffs never made such statements.
