Case # 150870/2014, Supreme Court - New York, January 30, 2014, ended July 23, 2014
$15,000 Settlement
Complaint
Description: On January 13, 2013 a vehicle struck Plaintiff's friend. POs Shane McQuillan, Robert Rennie, and Dennis Walsh responded and pushed Plaintiff into a wall then on the ground, kicking and striking her without legal justification and causing bleeding, bruising, swelling, and pain. POs then falsely arrested Plaintiff, charging her with, inter alia, resisting arrest and assaulting a PO. After being detained for several hours Plaintiff was ultimately released on her own recognizance. Plaintiff suffered and still suffers from anxiety, despair, lack of sleep, and no longer feels comfortable in the presence of POs as a result of this incident.
