Description: On or about November 11, 2017, Maurice Hicks was accosted by several NYPD officers, including Sergeant Anthony Donato and Officer Grisleys Garcia, at approximately 12:27 a.m. near River Park Towers in the Bronx, New York. The officers, without probable cause, grabbed and pushed Hicks before placing him under arrest, handcuffing him tightly behind his back. During his time in custody, Hicks was transported between precincts, subjected to a breathalyzer test despite not driving, and denied access to his medication, resulting in him losing consciousness.
