Description: On September 21, 2012, Plaintiff was lawfully in an ambulance at the emergency department entrance to Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center in Brooklyn. Plaintiff was subjected to verbal abuse by several NYPD officers, including Officer James Christie. Without a warrant and without legal justification, Plaintiff was forcibly detained, handcuffed, arrested, and held in custody. The charges against Plaintiff were wholly dismissed. As a direct result of this incident, Plaintiff has suffered and continues to suffer emotional pain, serious mental anguish, physical and emotional distress, and various other physical and psychological injuries.
