Complaint
Description: On May 8, 2019, Plaintiff was in his grandmother's apartment when officers, including NYPD Officer Sean Degnan, NYPD Lieutenant Lawrence Wang, and NYPD Sergeant Jahe Gjidija entered and arrested him for possession of a firearm, despite the fact that Plaintiff was not in possession of any weapon or marijuana. Plaintiff was then brought to the 23rd precinct where he voluntarily submitted a DNA sample, proving that he never had contact with the weapon allegedly found in the apartment. Still, Plaintiff was charged with possession of the weapon and marijuana. As a result of the arrest, Plaintiff was charged with violating his parole, charges later dismissed.
